What the work looks like in Dunfermline

Old-town Dunfermline properties are stone-built and hand-made, and a kitchen going into one needs to be cut to the room rather than assembled to a plan. Thick walls, generous ceiling heights and floors with character all mean scribing, packing and honest fillers instead of pretending a standard run will drop straight in.

The services need thinking about first in those properties — waste runs, supply routes and what has to be boxed in. Once that's set, the fit is straightforward joinery work: units levelled and locked together, doors set until the shadow gaps match, worktops templated on site and sealed properly at every joint.

The modern estates are the other half of our Dunfermline work, usually replacing tired original builder's kitchens with something better specified and better laid out. Same sequence either way: strip out, first fix, floor prepped, units set, worktops in, appliances connected and tested. It's a 35–40 minute run over the bridge, so we work it in solid full days.
